Lit Focus for Camp Harmony

Posted by Zack Phan On Tuesday, 11 January 2011 1 comments

Sone says camp "was hopefully called Camp Harmony". Do you think the name is appropriate, or is it ironic? Support your answer with the evidence from the text?

This based on who you are. Camp Harmony means camp with peace. If you were in US government, you would see that it’s appropriate. You didn’t want to freak people out with some name like Second Hell or similar to it. You give them shelter, food, and stuff so it was pretty peaceful in there. And you thought that what you did was the best way. But if you were another person or Japanese, you may think it is ironic. The U.S locked up people in there with small home, bad food. And when those Japanese Americans came out of the camp, they lost all their job and money. It was more like a prison than a camp. And what was peaceful about it? So it’s based on your perspective and how you define good and bad. I’m neutral.
